Our 10 favorite micro wedding venues in Orlando & Central Florida
One of the chief reasons micro weddings are so popular among couples is the flexibility to get married anywhere. But just because you can get married anywhere doesn’t necessarily mean you should get married just anywhere.
Most wedding venues will accommodate smaller weddings by offering intimate packages of reduced rates and tight-knit setups; but many standard wedding venues are simply built for larger soirées and thus can feel cavernous and empty when an intimate wedding rolls in.
Having photographed dozens of weddings over the past several years in business, you can say we’ve seen a micro wedding or two in our time (that’s an understatement, in case you didn’t catch our drift). And we’ve visited equally as many—if not more—wedding venues in the Central Florida area. From our experience as seasoned wedding-goers, we’re sharing our favorite venues that have just the right intimate, comfortable yet elegant feel perfect for your micro wedding.
As a wedding photography & videography team based in Orlando, we’ve personally worked at each of these micro wedding-friendly venues (and many more!) and are here to share our top 10 favorite venues perfect for intimate-sized weddings.
But first, let’s define a few terms:
What is a micro wedding?
There is no set, universal definition for what constitutes a micro wedding. However, we here at Author Made consider a micro wedding as one with a total guest count of 50 people or less.
What is a micro wedding venue?
Once again, the definition of a micro wedding venue is purely our own opinion. We’ve sorted through our expansive network of wedding venues we’ve either personally shot weddings at, or have researched for our other wedding venue articles, through the lens of how well they suit small-scale weddings. While you can really get married (almost) anywhere, some wedding venues may feel too expansive or spacious for micro weddings, impacting the tone and feel of your wedding day experience there. There are also many, many other fabulous venues around Central Florida that suit micro weddings: these are just our top 10!
Who is a micro wedding venue best suited for?
If you’re planning a wedding with a guest count under 50 (or even 100), you may want to consider a micro wedding-friendly venue. These venues either are smaller in scale, offering a more cozy and intimate atmosphere suited to your wedding size; or they offer unique features just for small weddings, such as reduced-price packages or onsite overnight accommodations. If you’re specifically looking for a wedding venue under $2,000 or a wedding venue under $5,000, many of the micro wedding venues shared below are also incredibly affordable for budget-friendly weddings.

Maitland Art & History Museums in Maitland, FL
We’ve shot a few micro weddings at the striking Maitland Art & History Museums, each more intimate than the last, and we can’t think of a wedding venue better blending intimacy, history, and culture. A true gem in the Central Florida area, this museum wedding venue offers a blend of history, art, and lush outdoor spaces ideal for a micro wedding. The iconic Chapel & Mayan Courtyard, surrounded by architectural stone walls, feels secluded and cozy for exchanging vows without sacrificing style; and the museum’s gardens offer sweeping backdrops for first looks or romantic bridal portraits. You can either host an intimate wedding reception at the modern Germaine Marvel Building onsite or pick a local spot outside the grounds to raise a toast (we’re partial to a morning wedding with a reception brunch at the nearby Alfond Inn, as our couple Taylor & Mitchell chose for their micro wedding last year!).

A popular venue choice for weddings of all sizes, the Orlando Museum of Art offers grandeur and elegance no matter the length of your guest list. Featuring modern architecture, marble floors, and stunning art galleries, the museum feels both airy and intimate at the same time. With no minimum guest count mentioned in their brochure, a micro wedding ceremony would especially feel at home in the 101 Grand Gallery, exchanging vows in front of the towering Dale Chihuly glass sculpture, all for an affordable rate.
