The Garden Villa in Winter Park is a dream for Orlando couples planning a garden wedding, especially those who want their celebration to be set within the natural beauty of our state without being far removed from the city. Owned by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, this hidden gem is surrounded by lush greenery, colorful blooms, and winding brick walkways. It’s one of the most charming outdoor wedding venues in Orlando, offering a peaceful retreat that feels worlds away from the city while still being easily accessible for guests.

The venue features an expansive lawn ideal for intimate ceremonies along with a cozy indoor reception space with mid-century character. Its flexible layout is perfect for micro weddings and gatherings of around 125 guests or fewer. Everywhere you turn, there are private corners and naturally beautiful backdrops for portraits, which makes it especially wonderful for couples wanting a romantic garden wedding in Central Florida.

High school sweethearts reunited

When we arrived to Cali & Allen’s wedding, family members were already setting up and adding personal touches around the ceremony space. It had the atmosphere of a close-knit small wedding, where everyone pitches in and every detail holds meaning.

The ceremony began casually, with guests settling into their seats and chatting softly before everything shifted into an emotional, heartfelt moment. Cali and Allen wrote their own vows, and hearing them speak to each other was easily one of the most moving parts of the day. Their bilingual vows highlighted their shared love of music and the real, honest journey that brought them back together after time apart.

One of the sweetest parts of their backstory came from Cali, who shared how she still remembers the handmade origami Allen used to give her back when they dated in high school. In the years since they had become separated and reunited only in adulthood. It was such a tender reminder of how long their connection has existed.

The entire ceremony felt like the best part of a micro wedding—personal, intentional, emotional, and centered entirely on their story. Guests wiped away tears, laughed, and leaned in to listen. When they shared their first kiss, it wrapped everything together in a simple and beautiful way.

Color in full bloom

After the ceremony, we wandered through the venue for portraits. Cali and Allen wore bright, joyful colors that stood out beautifully against the greenery, adding so much personality to their Florida-inspired wedding photos. Allen is colorblind, so seeing how their outfits came together so perfectly made it all the more special!

The Garden Villa’s gardens gave us endless serene spots for portraits, and the slower pace of this intimate Orlando wedding allowed the couple to relax, breathe, and just be together. These quiet moments are one of the biggest gifts of choosing a micro wedding or small celebration—you get more time with each other.

Just like the beginning of the day, everything wrapped up gently and with so much love. After portraits, their celebration came to a close in the most natural way, surrounded by family and filled with gratitude for the journey that brought them here.
