Wes Anderson Inspired Modern Art Museum Catholic Wedding at Holy Family Catholic Church and Orlando Museum of Art in Orlando, FL | Orlando Wedding Photographer & Videographer

Author Made team photographer Kelly and team videographer Rob, along with creative lead & founder Michael, captured this classic romantic glam wedding in downtown Orlando, FL.

We’ll let you in on a little secret: our favorite weddings to shoot are the ones where we go home afterwards and in great detail share every unique detail about the wedding day to our spouses or loved ones. Kaitlin & Josh’s wedding was absolutely one of those kind of days!

Soft and gentle, confident and adventurous, these lovebirds share a passion for gaming, anime, and all things nerdy. Meeting at a lawyer conference in Boston, they tied the knot back home in Orlando, where their faith-centered relationship blossomed and took root. Their traditional Catholic wedding and romantic-glam art museum reception made their wedding day feel both deeply personal and elegantly sophisticated.

A heartfelt ceremony at Holy Family Catholic Church

Their wedding day began with a beautiful indoor ceremony at Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando, FL. With approximately 115 guests, the church’s classic architecture provided a serene, intimate backdrop for their mass. Kaitlin and Josh’s vows, combined with the quiet elegance of the space, set a meaningful and sacred tone for the day and a perfect prelude to their celebration at one of Orlando’s most photogenic wedding venues.

Exploring the Orlando Museum of Art: elegance meets creativity

After the ceremony, we moved to the Orlando Museum of Art, a venue that perfectly reflected Kaitlin and Josh’s sophisticated, artsy, and Wes Anderson-inspired style. This isn’t just a museum: it’s an immersive playground for elegance and creativity. From the art deco architecture to the thoughtfully curated galleries, every corner of the museum offered visual interest and a unique way to engage wedding guests. Cocktail hour took place in the museum’s main entrance, allowing guests to mingle before exploring the galleries, and the theatre was used for a private screening of Wes Anderson films as a playful, personal touch honoring the couple’s favorite filmmaker.

Photographer’s note: Shooting at the Orlando Museum of Art is a dream for any Orlando wedding photographer. The galleries themselves provide endless opportunities for portraits, candid moments, and dramatic artistic compositions. While flash photography is restricted near the artwork, natural overhead lighting and continuous light sources allowed us to capture every intimate and joyful moment beautifully. Our advice: explore the full museum. From entrance to galleries, each space offers distinct textures, colors, and architectural details that elevate portraits and storytelling images, making every shot feel curated and timeless.

Modernity meets romance

Kaitlin and Josh’s wedding style blended modern minimalism, romantic elegance, and playful Wes Anderson charm. Their black, white, and gold color palette was carried through florals, tablescapes, and fashion. Kaitlin’s dress was modern and minimal with a structured off-the-shoulder neckline, lace floral back, and long veil, while Josh changed from a classic black suit at the ceremony into a striking white suit with black accents for the reception. Reception tables featured childhood photos of the couple as table numbers, and their sweetheart table glowed with glass votive candles both on the table and the floor, perfect for romantic portraits.

The day was filled with so many heartfelt and fun moments. Kaitlin’s father gave a moving speech, revealing a softer side that left guests touched. Josh’s brother played live music during cocktail hour, mixing classical standards with video game-inspired tunes like from Animal Crossing. Later, a live jazz band added energy to the reception, and the couple enjoyed a private Wes Anderson film screening in the museum theatre. Despite the elegant and sophisticated vibe, every detail reflected Kaitlin and Josh’s personalities and their love for one another.

Kaitlin and Josh’s wedding was the perfect mix of class, art, and heartfelt emotion. From portraits in the Orlando Museum of Art to intimate speeches and playful touches, the day was a true reflection of their relationship. For couples searching for unique wedding venues in Orlando, the Orlando Museum of Art offers a sophisticated, artsy, and unforgettable backdrop for celebrations that are anything but ordinary. It’s a space that allows you to showcase your personality, your love of art, and your most memorable moments—all while giving your photographer endless creative possibilities.
