Sydney & Jim’s wedding day at Lake Louisa Chateau in Clermont, FL was in full bloom, literally! A vibrant sunny day, gorgeous weather, and colorful blooms adorning everywhere your eye looked: springtime romance was in the air.
From the moment we arrived, the property already felt alive with the spring energy. Sydney and her bridesmaids were in matching pajamas laughing around the house, while Jim and the groomsmen were getting ready nearby, keeping things relaxed and low-key. Kelly (photo) was moving between both sides of the property capturing all those anticipatory moments, while Rob (video) was focused on those small moments, laughter and gestures that make wedding films feel like reliving the day.
A whimsical first look
One of the most meaningful parts of the day came before the ceremony even started. Sydney shared a first look with her dad near the bridge at the back of the property, followed by a sweet moment with her bridesmaids all dressed in vibrant colors of the rainbow. It set the tone for a day that was clearly rooted in family connection and joy!
Meanwhile, Jim spent a quiet moment with his sisters by the lake where they prayed together before the ceremony. It was also where he opened a surprise box from his bride with a handwritten note and a few thoughtful gifts, including a pair of glasses and shoes she had picked out for him.
Lake Louisa Chateau: a hidden charm wedding venue in Clermont, FL
Lake Louisa Chateau is a rental property that feels like a hidden escape jut minutes outside metro Orlando. Set on a sprawling property with a mix of open fields, lake views, and tucked-away garden-style spaces, it’s especially well-suited for outdoor weddings where guests can relax and spread out.
One of the biggest advantages of this venue is the on-site Airbnb house, which makes getting ready and staying on property incredibly convenient especially for larger guest counts. Between the pond, swan boats, gazebo, volleyball court, and open lawn space, there’s a lot for wedding guests to experience beyond just the ceremony and reception. Sydney & Jim made great use of this, creating a wedding day that felt more like a weekend gathering than a single event.
For photographers, the property offers a mix of strong portrait locations, especially around the gazebo and lake. That said, the light near the gazebo can get quite harsh in the late afternoon, so shooting inside the structure or using backlit compositions tends to work best. Kelly leaned into that approach throughout the day on photo, while Rob captured the movement and energy of guests flowing between spaces on film.
A sentimental outdoor ceremony
The ceremony took place under a large tree with plenty of natural shade, and the ceremony itself struck a really nice balance between emotional and lighthearted. One of the unexpected highlights was a tiny flower boy moment that stole the show: a toddler wandered down the aisle with the group, stopped mid-procession, and happily started picking up petals like it was his own personal activity station. (and yes, you better believe we caught it on camera!)
Groom Jim walked up to the ceremony site assisting his 90+-year-old grandmother in her wheelchair, which certainly left many guests tearing up, and shortly after the bridal party procession, bride Sydney and her father walked up to meet her future spouse. Laughing her way up the aisle, Sydney was a burst of pure joy!
The couple’s ceremony included a candle lighting and thoughtful speeches and prayers from loved ones before they were pronounced husband and wife. (Just look at that floral backdrop for their first kiss!")
A relaxed outdoor reception (and a surprise toast)
Cocktail hour flowed from the porch into the lawn and tented reception space, where dinner was followed by speeches, dances, and a few fun surprises, including Sydney’s young niece who absolutely demanded the microphone for an impromptu speech that somehow turned into a full-on plug for her mom’s flower business. Yes, this moment absolutely made its way into the final wedding video.
The reception energy was steady rather than wild, but it fit the couple perfectly. Sydney & Jim stayed present, enjoying each part of the evening without rushing through anything. After cake cutting and a bouquet toss that… didn’t quite make it airborne, the night wrapped up in a relaxed, happy rhythm.
Sydney & Jim’s wedding was one of the most family-centric weddings we’ve attended in recent months, and yet it still felt so very them. Lake Louisa Chateau gave them the space to prioritize a laid-back, inclusive gathering for all their loved ones young and mature, yet also keep a focus on the love between the two of them.
Congratulations again to Sydney & Jim, and many blooming springtimes ahead to you both!
