A micro wedding full of memories & meaning
Alex & Rob’s lakeside wedding at the sweetest Airbnb home in Clermont, Florida was everything a wedding should be—personal, emotional, and filled with the kind of love that comes from truly weathering life together. In just a few short hours, they created a day that was honest, meaningful, and completely their own.
Airbnb weddings are an increasingly popular way for couples to get married affordably. Hosting a wedding at a vacation rental offers couples the freedom to create a day that is both personal and affordable: with all the comforts of home, and without the cost of a traditional wedding venue. For Alex & Rob, the peaceful lake, the warm spring breeze, and the familiarity of a home setting made their day feel intimate and grounded. (Considering an Airbnb for your wedding or elopement? Heirlooms, emotion, and a lakeside ceremony
We arrived as the day was beginning to unfold. Inside the home, Alex shared a quiet getting-ready moment with her mom—just the two of them, no fuss, no rush. Among the special details was a butterfly tucked into Alex’s bouquet: more than just decoration, it was a treasured family heirloom, passed down through generations. It was one of many subtle but heartfelt symbols woven into the day.
When it was time, Alex stepped outside to find everyone waiting for her at the lakeside. Rob stood among their loved ones, visibly moved the moment he saw her. His eyes filled with emotion—a reflection of everything they’d been through and the joy of finally reaching this moment together.
Rob’s brother officiated the ceremony, adding a personal and heartfelt touch. The intimacy of the setting, combined with the couple’s emotional personal vows, made the ceremony feel sacred. After facing challenges together as a couple over the past two years, Alex & Rob chose to step into their future together, not with grandeur, but with honesty, vulnerability, and intention. Their vows were beautiful and deeply moving—there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. It was the kind of ceremony that reminded everyone present what weddings are truly about. This is what we love most about micro weddings: at the end of the day, it isn’t about the dollar amount spent, the expansive florals, or the glittering centerpieces, it’s about the love you two have for one another and your commitment to weather life’s storms together.
A relaxed celebration at home
After the ceremony, we took a little time for a bridal session, wandering around the lakeside and the surrounding property. The light flickering through the trees and the spring breeze made the perfect backdrop for some truly timeless photos!
Back at the house, Alex & Rob joined their guests for their laid-back backyard wedding reception. While their reception was informal, it was so beautifully decorated with white tablecloths, sprawling florals, and thoughtful details. At one point, Alex stood up to deliver a toast—simple, heartfelt, and filled with gratitude. And just like that, their wedding wrapped on a beautiful, authentic note.
Congratulations, Alex & Rob! Wishing you both a lifetime of lakeside sunsets and quiet joy.
